Since the end of the show season last year MRMC’s feet have not touched the ground – literally – with 13 countries visited and over 73,000 miles travelled in pursuit of keeping our Clients and the superyacht industry truly compliant.

It’s been busy, busy, busy with the team carrying out pre purchase and condition surveys and inspections across the globe. We’ve performed technical investigations, and carried out statutory RMI Flag compliance verifications for private yachts (PY’s), private yacht limited yachter (PYLC), yacht engaged in trade (YET), passenger (PAXY) and full commercial yachts.

In the middle we still managed to fit in a round of golf at The Pinmar Golf charity tournament, playing as the Marshall Fore with the Marshall Islands Registry. The two Al’s – Alex Von Stein (RMI) and Alix (MRMC) threw their all at it, but alas there were just too many pros around to make any headway. A fantastic event regardless, even in the pouring rain!

Pinmar Team 2018 countries

All the while, we’ve still been auditing the three UK ports we represent as Designated Person (DP), under the Port Marine Safety Code to ensure their continued compliance.

A word from Mark: “We’ve been involved in some very interesting projects over the last few months. These include accident investigations, cargo disputes and pre-purchase surveys for a number of Clients. And of course continuing to represent the Marshall Islands as the Flag of choice!

“We’ve visited some amazing countries from Langkawi to Montenegro. I especially enjoyed revisiting Hong Kong. This was my first time there since attending as an Officer in the Royal Fleet Auxiliary, as part of the Hong Kong handover in 1997. So much has changed, but it’s still one of my favourite cities in the world.”

Our US based surveyor Ben, has also been busy enjoying a diverse client base across the United States, carrying out RMI surveys and inspections and dealing with our longstanding state side commitments. A highlight of which was a recent trip to Cebu in the Philippines to carry out a pre-registration survey and provide ongoing consultancy services.

Here’s to the next few months being as varied.

Stay safe; be compliant!
