Mark Robinson Maritime Consultants (MRMC) have been appointed as Nautical Inspectors for the Barbados Ships’ Registry providing annual Flag safety inspections for ships Registered with BMSR.
Barbados has maintained a Ships’ Registry for more than a hundred years, and has been a member of the IMO since 1972. On 1st July 1994 The Shipping Act (1994) and The Shipping (Oil Pollution) Act 1994 were enacted, and Barbados opened its international ships’ Registry in London.
The Barbados Ships’ Registry quickly developed a reputation for quality, and was in fact only the second international ships’ registry in the world to obtain her Lloyd’s Register Quality certificate in 1996. The Registry has maintained that quality standard since, and is today accredited by DNV-GL to ISO 9001, maintaining her standing on the Paris MOU White List.
Captain Peter Green said: “Our network of Nautical Inspectors has been instrumental in helping to maintain the quality standards of the Barbados fleet; we are proud of the reputation of the Barbados flag and the performance of our inspectors, with Mark Robinson Maritime Consultants being a recent welcome addition to the network.”
