Beaulieu Enterprises Limited (BEL) has appointed Mark Robinson Maritime Consultants (MRMC) as the new Designated Person (DP) for Beaulieu River and Bucklers Hard Yacht Harbour.

In accordance with the Port Marine Safety Code, as the new DP for Beaulieu River, MRMC will provide independent assurance about the operation of BEL’s port marine safety management system.

The Port Marine Safety Code establishes a national standard for every aspect of port marine safety and aims to enhance safety for those who use or work in ports, their ships, passengers and the environment. The code applies to all harbour authorities in the UK that have statutory powers and duties.

Mark Robinson said: “It is a pleasure to be working with Beaulieu Enterprises Limited. Beaulieu River is part of the Beaulieu Estate and is one of the few privately owned rivers in the world and as such voluntarily comply with the PMSC to benchmark against the industry standard. MRMC are delighted to be part of the team ensuring its continued safe running and development.”

As well as providing independent Designated Person (DP) services as required by the PMSC, MRMC have the expertise to provide Port Marine Safety Code (PMSC) compliance audits and health checks, having attended and reported against major commercial ports and leisure harbours throughout the UK.

MRMC provide services for the implementation, monitoring and reporting on major company exercises as required by the ISM and ISPS codes and can adapt these to test harbour Authority’s rapid reaction procedures to a perceived emergency scenario.
